locations/ establishing shots

One of the days in the half term the actors were not available at the last minute so the house we are using (Prentice's) Prentice used this time to take picture of the establishing shot and angles of what would look best for the opening:

These photos above, show Prentice trying out angles and seeing which one would look the best for the opening. I think that the bottom one looks the best as it shows the house looking bigger and more grand and therefore sinister. The shot is hard to get right as you cannot frame the entire house unless you are quite far back.

Here is a picture of after affects which he used afterwards to make the scene look darker and therefore more sinister.

Evaluation:
When we go to film our piece we plan to do it in the darkness as then the moon will be most prominant. Therefore using after effects in the actual piece will be unnecessary. But the shot of the house is good that he has taken as it is low angle and therefore make it look more grand and sinister. As well as this we will need to think about how we will incorporate the crab shot view of the girl which we planned to use as the POV shot of the girl standing at the door from the male's view. This is because the door has too windows either side, whether it is a question of boarding out the windows, we will have to plan what to do when it comes to the actual filming.
